Walk with me across the Brooklyn Bridge and then back across the Manhattan Bridge.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of many New York City’s iconic landmarks. Built in 1883 it connects Brooklyn and Manhattan’s finical district. It is a mixture of cable stayed and suspension bridge and was designed by John Augustus. From it you can see the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building (in the distance) and the skyline of both Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge has been filmed in numerous movies including Manhattan, Bridge of Spies (one of my favorites), Sex in the City, John Wick, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four and just about every Spider-man movie ever made.

The Manhattan Bridge runs next to the Brooklyn Bridge and is a suspension bridge that also houses the rail transient system (which is fun crossing on foot because the bridge shakes when the subway passes over it). It was designed by Leon Moisseiff and opened in 1909. Like the Brooklyn Bridge, it is featured in several movies including Superman Returns, Eat Pray Love, Lonely Guy, Wolfen, and Ghostbusters to name a few.

If in NYC it is worth the time to walk across both. It will allow you views of the city and an enjoyable experience that you will carry with you for a long time. Check it out here.
